Important Details for Renters

About Your Rental

  • Please arrive promptly at your start time unless prior arrangements are made.

  • If you need to empty the trash or recycling bin during your stay please use the containers located near the carport.

  • Cleaning expectations: we expect to do two hours of cleaning after each rental. Leaving the venue in similar shape to how you found it ensures that we can easily accomplish this. Sticky floors, large messes, decorations left up, furniture re-arranged, and other things can make it so that additional cleaning fees are applied

  • Keeping the doors shut helps keep bugs and wildlife out of the ballroom and allows the heating and cooling systems to function effectively.

Privacy

Your rental is private unless access is needed. Some examples of reasons needed to enter are below. In most cases attempts will be made to reach you via text or phone call before anyone will knock or enter the ballroom.

  • Sound system level is exceedingly loud

  • Guests outside are exceedingly loud

  • Guests outside are visibly intoxicated. It is your responsibility to monitor your guests and to make sure they don’t over indulge.

  • Fire alarms go off or other concerns are present. Water pooling, smoke, and yelling are some examples of concerns

Respecting Neighbors

Maintaining a harmonious relationship with the neighbors of The Chateau is crucial to ensure continued enjoyment of the venue. Please adhere to the following guidelines to help create a positive rental experience that does not adversely affect the neighborhood

  • Noise Control: Keep noise levels at a considerate volume, especially during late hours, to avoid disturbances.

  • Parking Consideration: Park vehicles responsibly and in designated areas, being mindful not to park in front of our neighbors.

  • Litter-Free Environment: Dispose of trash properly, both within the venue and in the surrounding neighborhood.

  • Timely Conclusion: Wrap up events and activities promptly, particularly during late hours, to minimize disruptions for the neighbors.

By adhering to these guidelines, we contribute to a positive community environment and ensure that The Chateau remains a place for everyone to enjoy.

Guest Count

If more guests attend than you have registered your rental may be immediately terminated

Visitor Code of Conduct

  • No smoking/ vaping except away from the building at the fire pit.

  • Monitor Open Flames like the Wood Fire Pit and gas fire table need to be monitored at all times

    • Wood Fire Pit needs to have watering can next to it filled with water and doused

      when unattended or leaving

  • Respect The Boundaries: don’t go past any “Staff Only” or “do Not Enter” signs. Stay inside the perimeter lights and any gates. Do not venture into the rugged terrain

    surrounding the deck, parking, and vista areas

  • The Ballroom floor is an excellent space for dancing. Please exercise caution to avoid spilling drinks or causing scratches with sharp shoes, rocks, heavy equipment, and similar.

  • Values: At any Chateau event, we are committed to fostering a culture of consent and respect for all attendees. Any form of bigotry, racism, or sexism will not be tolerated

Finding The Chateau Ballroom

Look for a long gravel Driveway Strung with Edison bulbs on Taylors Ferry Road. There is a paved drive that is not The Chateau Ballroom's. Signs for The Chateau Ballroom can be found along Taylors Ferry Rd. A long gravel driveway strung with Edison bulbs will lead you to The Chateau Ballroom. When you arrive, park to the left of the building on the sunset vista. The ballroom deck with our flame tower and entrance will be straight ahead.

Navigating Parking

Part of the boutique experience and charm of The Chateau Ballroom is preserving the natural splendor that surrounds us. As such we have twenty parking spots available. The less parking you take up the more space there is to enjoy the vista and the beauty of the forest.

  • You are responsible for helping your guests park, making sure they are in the correct areas, and not parked in front of our neighbors.

  • There are Park and Rides nearby at the Barbur, Tigard and Washington Square Transit centers, with free parking up to 24 hours and a quick taxi ride or carpool away from The Chateau Ballroom

  • Accessibility: We provide a concrete drop-off area in the parking lot for on-site parking, offering direct, stair-free access to the ballroom

  • RSVP Parking: Please provide a list of people who have RSVPed for parking

Light Switches

  • Kitchen Lights, Beam Lights, and Chandelier. If the beam lights are flashing turn them off for 30 seconds and back on.

  • Remotes for Bar Lights

    • In top middle drawer of the bar

  • Flood Lights

  • Outside walkway lights

    • Remote to change colors is in top middle drawer of the bar

Thermostat

  • Move Switch to heat or cool and turn the temperature dial

Sound System

  • 1). Turn on the North Wall Switch under the thermostat

  • 2). Long hold TaoTronics BT adapter power button

  • 3). Double tap Bluetooth adapter

  • 4). Connect your device to Bluetooth

Wireless Microphones

  • 1). Locate the receiver with antennae, behind the left speaker

  • 2). Push the button on the rear right to turn on

  • 3). Turn on the microphone

  • 4). Turn the volume channel up on the right while testing the microphone sound

TV

  • 1). Use the TV remote to power on

  • 2). The TV can connect to the speakers via Bluetooth,

    • a). With TV on turn on the TaoTronics Bluetooth adapter. If it automatically connects you will see a pop up, click yes to connect

    • b). If it does not connect, use the TV remote, go to the menu > Sound > Speaker List > Bluetooth Audio > TaoTronics TT-BA07

Cleaning Expectations

We kindly request that any dishes utilized be thoroughly washed, dried, and properly stored. All decorations must be removed, and personal belongings taken with you. Ensuring no substantial messes remain will prevent any cleaning fees. We take pride in seldom charging cleaning fees for our esteemed guests and are delighted to manage sweeping, mopping, wiping counters, and other cleaning tasks.

Emptying Trash & Recycling

You only need to empty the trash if it fills up during your event, we’ll empty it afterwards. Trash & Recycling Bins are located at the front of the building near the garage/carport on the south side.

  • 1). Extra bags are located under the kitchen sink

  • 2). DO NOT set trash bags down inside. Please take them outside immediately. Please ensure that no liquid has been disposed of into the trash.
